Understanding the dashboard

1 min readUpdated 16 Aug 2026

The dashboard is your business at a glance. Everything on it is drawn live from your ledger — there is no separate “dashboard data” to refresh or get out of date.

The cards

  • Cash in bank — the combined balance of your connected bank accounts, straight from the ledger.

  • Owed to you — outstanding receivables: approved invoices your customers have not paid yet.

  • You owe — outstanding payables: approved bills you have not paid yet.

  • Income and expenses — year to date, with the monthly trend chart underneath so you can see the shape of the year.

  • Health check — issues the AI has spotted in your books, linked through to the Issues page. See Health check issues explained.

  • Recent activity — the latest journals posted to your ledger, so you can see what changed and when.

Reading it well

If Cash in bank matches your actual bank, and the reconcile queue is empty, every other number can be trusted. If something looks off, the usual cause is unreconciled transactions — clear the queue and look again before digging deeper.

Click into any card rather than squinting at it — each one links to the page where the underlying detail lives.
