Fixing bank feed connection issues

1 min readUpdated 16 Aug 2026

Bank connections occasionally need re-authorising — banks expire open-banking consents periodically, and password or security changes at the bank break the link. This is normal and takes a minute to fix.

Quick fixes, in order

  1. Reconnect — on Bank feeds, choose the affected connection and follow the reconnect flow. This re-authorises with the bank and resumes syncing.

  2. Check with your bank — some banks require you to re-approve third-party access inside their own app before the reconnect will succeed.

  3. Sync on demand — after reconnecting, trigger a manual sync rather than waiting for the next automatic one.

  4. Backfill any gap — if transactions were missed while disconnected, upload a statement covering the gap. Duplicates are detected automatically, so overlapping is safe.

How to spot a gap

Compare the bank balance and book balance on the Bank accounts page, and scan Bank transactions for a suspicious quiet patch. A period with no transactions on an account that is normally busy is the classic sign of a feed outage.

If a feed still will not sync after reconnecting, contact support from the Help page and include the bank name and roughly when it stopped — connection logs make these quick to diagnose.
